Cryotherapy is a controlled treatment that uses extreme cold to remove certain benign skin lesions. It is commonly used for skin tags, common warts and verrucas where appropriate

Every appointment begins with an assessment to confirm suitability and ensure treatment is safe. If a lesion is not suitable for cryotherapy, treatment will not go ahead

Cryotherapy may be suitable for benign lesions such as skin tags, common warts and verrucas. Treatment is always based on clinical assessment and individual suitability

​

Important note about moles and pigmented lesions:
Moles and pigmented lesions are not treated routinely with cryotherapy. Any mole or changing lesion must be appropriately assessed and cleared before removal is considered

​

For moles or pigmented lesions, Tempera Health offers access to the Map My Mole screening service. Images are reviewed by a UK consultant dermatologist, providing an added layer of reassurance before any removal is considered

​

If a lesion requires further medical assessment, you will be advised to see your GP or specialist. Cryotherapy is only carried out when it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so. Skin tags, warts and verrucas do not usually require Map My Mole screening and can often be assessed and treated directly where appropriate

What to expect at your appointment
Your appointment includes a skin assessment, discussion of suitability, cryotherapy treatment where appropriate, and clear aftercare guidance. Some lesions require more than one session depending on size, location and response

​

Aftercare and healing
Following treatment, the area may feel sore or appear red. A small blister or scab can form as part of the normal healing process. Full aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment
