Perhaps you’ve wanted your ears pierced for years but never quite booked. Maybe your child is asking for their first earrings. Or you’ve stopped wearing yours and think the holes have closed.

Whatever brings you in, ear piercing at Tempera Health and Skin Clinic in Overton starts with a chat and a chance to feel comfortable.

I’m Emma, and I offer appointments for adults and children at No.1 George Street, near Basingstoke.

What happens at your appointment?

We’ll talk through what you’d like, check suitability and choose your earrings. I’ll mark the proposed placement so you can check it before we go ahead.

I use the Studex ear piercing system and explain the process beforehand, so you know what to expect.

Afterwards, we’ll go through looking after your new piercings and the aftercare instructions to follow at home.

There’s time to ask questions, and you don’t need to arrive feeling completely confident. A few nerves are very normal.

Can you get your ears pierced again?

If you haven’t worn earrings for a long time, you might be unsure whether your old piercings are still open.

Rather than assuming you need another piercing, I’ll assess the old piercing sites first. We can then discuss what’s suitable, including placement if re-piercing is an option.

If you’ve previously had problems with a piercing, please let me know before your appointment.

First earrings for children

Getting their first earrings can feel like a big occasion. I want your child to feel comfortable and involved, from choosing their earrings to checking the placement.

We’ll talk the appointment through together, and we won’t go ahead if they don’t want to.

Under-16s must attend with a parent. Please contact me before booking if you have questions about age or suitability.

It’s also worth checking school jewellery rules and considering any sports or activities that require earrings to be removed. A school holiday alone doesn’t mean a new piercing will be ready for earrings to come out when term starts.

Looking after your new piercings

Aftercare is part of the appointment. I’ll explain the instructions for your piercing and aftercare product, including when you can change your earrings.

Please get in touch if you’re unsure about anything afterwards rather than guessing.
