What happens at a skin tag appointment?

We start by looking at the area you’d like treated and discussing any relevant health information. Before going ahead, I’ll assess whether it’s suitable for the treatment I offer.

Not every bump or raised area of skin is a skin tag. If there’s uncertainty about what it is, or it needs medical assessment, I’ll explain why treatment shouldn’t go ahead and advise you on the next step.

If it is suitable, we’ll talk through the treatment, the cost and what to expect afterwards. You’ll have time to ask questions before deciding.

How are skin tags treated?

I use cryotherapy, which involves applying a controlled freeze to the skin tag.

Most skin tags resolve after one treatment, although larger ones may need additional treatments. These are charged separately, and I’ll explain the costs before we go ahead.

You’ll also receive aftercare guidance so you know how to look after the area at home.

Clinic appointments and home visits

You can book skin tag removal at Tempera Health and Skin Clinic in Overton. Home visits are also available across Basingstoke and the surrounding villages if you’d prefer an appointment at home.

Clinic appointments are available Monday to Saturday, including Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
