What Does a Tailored Facial Actually Mean?

If you’ve ever booked a facial and wondered whether everyone receives exactly the same treatment, the answer at Tempera is no.

Skin can change considerably from one appointment to the next. It can feel dry one week, congested another, or become more sensitive because of weather, skincare products, hormones or simply life being life.

That’s why I prefer to tailor facial treatments to the skin in front of me on the day.

What happens during a facial at Tempera?

Your appointment starts with a look at your skin and a chat about what you’ve been noticing, what products you’re currently using and what you would like from your treatment.

From there, I can adapt the facial rather than automatically working through a fixed list of steps.

Depending on your skin, your treatment could include cleansing, exfoliation, massage, masks, cryo globes and targeted skincare.

I use Tropic skincare products within my facial treatments and select products according to your individual skin and the type of treatment we’re carrying out.

Do I need to know which facial I need before I book?

No.

You don’t need to diagnose your own skin or arrive knowing exactly what products or techniques it needs.

Part of my job is working that out with you.

You might simply know that your skin feels dull, dry, congested or tired — or you might just want an hour to switch off while doing something nice for your skin.

Both are perfectly valid reasons to book.

Can I add LED light therapy?

Yes. LED light therapy is available as an add-on to facial treatments at Tempera.

It’s a lovely option if you want to extend the appointment and have a little more time to relax while your treatment is tailored around your skin.
