What Skin Lesions Can Cryotherapy Treat?

If you’ve ever looked at a skin tag, wart or mysterious bump and wondered whether anything can be done about it, you’re not alone. Many of the people I see at Tempera Health & Skin Clinic simply want to know whether their skin lesion can be treated safely.
I use the CryoIQ pen, an advanced cryotherapy device that freezes unwanted tissue with precision while minimising damage to the surrounding skin.
Skin Tags
Skin tags are one of the most common lesions I treat. Although they’re completely harmless, they can become irritating when they catch on clothing, jewellery or during shaving. Cryotherapy is often an effective option for suitable skin tags.
Cherry Angiomas
Cherry angiomas, sometimes called “red blood spots”, are small collections of blood vessels that become more common with age. They’re benign and many people choose to have them treated for cosmetic reasons.
Common Warts
Common warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and frequently appear on the hands and fingers. Cryotherapy freezes the wart tissue, allowing your body to naturally remove it over time.
Verrucae
A verruca is simply a wart that develops on the sole of the foot. They can become painful when walking and often require more than one treatment, particularly if they’ve been present for a while.
Seborrhoeic Keratoses
Seborrhoeic keratoses are harmless, age-related skin growths that often have a raised, “stuck-on” appearance. While they don’t require treatment, many people choose to have them removed if they become irritated or they’re unhappy with how they look.
Sun Spots
Sun spots, also known as solar lentigines, are flat brown marks caused by years of sun exposure. Not every pigmented lesion is suitable for cryotherapy, which is why assessment is always the first step.
Why Assessment Matters
Not every skin lesion should be treated with cryotherapy. Before any treatment, I’ll carefully assess the area to determine whether it’s suitable. If I have any concerns or feel another option would be more appropriate, I’ll always explain this and advise you accordingly.
Book a Consultation
If you have a skin lesion that’s bothering you but you’re unsure what it is, don’t worry—you don’t need to have all the answers before booking.

At Tempera Health & Skin Clinic in Overton, I offer professional skin lesion assessments and honest advice on whether cryotherapy is the right treatment for you.
